2008 Apprenticeships

Apprenticeship schemes for 2008 have now started, with BT planning to recruit 500 apprentices across the UK.

Apprenticeships are good way to learn and develop skills whilst actually working in the role. This will enable you to learn every aspect of the business and better prepare you for employment in the 21st Century. BT plans to recruit apprentices in Engineering, Information Technology, Customer and Fleet Service. There are also exciting opportunities for Advanced and Higher Apprenticeships.

The online application form will be available on BT.com from the 4th February to the 29th February 2008. Applicants who meet the initial criteria will be invited to regional recruitment days between March and May. You will then have the opportunity to learn about the BT apprenticeship scheme and a further selection assessment will be undertaken. For more information please see a Connexions personal adviser.

You have probably have seen Wates in Hounslow a lot recently as they are involved in the redevelopment and refurbishment of the Primark store on Hounslow High Street.

The RAC now have an Apprenticeship scheme available in the role of a ‘Windscreen Technician’.

The programme is for 2-years, studying for an NVQ Level 2 in ‘Automotive Glazing’ together with key skills in communications and Maths. The role involves travelling and will be based in fittingcentres working with a trained technician learning all aspects of the role.
