Stress

Being a young adult can be a difficult time and there are lots of things that can make you feel stressed out. You might have been working hard, studying hard, or partying hard and all this can take a lot out of you and make you feel drained and stressed.

It maybe that there is so much going on in your life that it can be difficult to cope and keep feeling positive.

To try to tackle stress, there are a few simple things that you can try:

  • take time out to listen to some of your favourite music and do nothing else,
  • escape the pressures of everyday life by exercising
  • try walking or cycling rather than catching a bus,
  • go and see your mates rather than phoning them,
  • get rid of tension by trying something like Thai boxing or kick boxing. The free time section has links to local leisure facilities where there may be classes,
  • learn a new skill or sport,
  • use aromatherapy oils.

Don’t forget that however much you are studying, you need to have breaks to keep your studying manageable and keep the stress levels low.
