Self Harm

From time to time depressed feelings inside you can build up and make you feel stressed and worried.

Some people bottle things up so much that this pressure just keeps building up and this can lead to people self-harming.

Stress

Being a young adult can be a difficult time and there are lots of things that can make you feel stressed out. You might have been working hard, studying hard, or partying hard and all this can take a lot out of you and make you feel drained and stressed.

Sexual health

Sex and sexual health isn’t the ideal topic for most young people to talk to adults about, but you need to ask someone because, chances are, your mates don’t have a clue what they’re talking about and they’re just making it up to look good.

Keeping your mind healthy

You deal with different kinds of feelings and emotions on a daily basis.

Sometimes these are easy to cope with and sometimes they are harder. At times you might feel happy and at others you might feel sad and down.

Drugs, alcohol and smoking

Drugs are illegal and can be incredibly unpredictable. The effects that drugs can have on you vary wildly from one person to another.

Exercise

We all need to do some exercise to stay healthy and keep our bodies working and reduce stress. You don’t need to join a special club - you can just try walking a bit further, or going dancing!

Eating disorders

Eating disorders don’t just happen because people are worried about their weight or how they look. They are often a way of trying to cope with negative emotions and feelings about of lack of control over things and sufferers can be male or female.

Healthy diet

Food is fuel for your body. Like a car, you need to put in the right sorts of fuel in the right amounts to get the best performance from
your body.

General health

No-one likes feeling ill and we all know that staying healthy is important, but it isn‘t just about having a cold or bad back.
